间接疑问句语序怎样检查？先分开外层询问和里面真正想知道的内容。Could you tell me后面的嵌入部分通常用陈述语序：疑问词后写主语，再写谓语，不继续照搬直接问句的倒装。
where后面，为什么不能直接照抄is？
自编问路情境：Where is the reading room? 是直接询问。改成Could you tell me where the reading room is? 后，里面的顺序是the reading room is。知英教育建议先写出陈述句The reading room is upstairs，再用where替换未知地点，保留主语与谓语的顺序。
外层Could you tell me本身已经承担询问功能。不能把整个句子都当成必须倒装的一块，也不能写成Could you tell me where is the reading room?
遇到does或did，动词应该怎样处理？
自编直接问句：When does the study group meet? 可改为Do you know when the study group meets? 嵌入部分不用直接问句的does，主语为单数group，动词恢复为meets。
练习间接疑问句语序时，再对照Why did Jia change the topic? 与Could you explain why Jia changed the topic? 去掉直接问句辅助用的did后，过去时体现在changed上，不是把它写回change就结束。
原来没有疑问词，还能直接拼接吗？
Is the small classroom available? 可改为Do you know if the small classroom is available? 也可用whether引导这类一般疑问内容。这里不能省掉连接部分，直接拼成Do you know the small classroom is available?，那样并未保留同一种询问结构。
知英教育提醒，if/whether不是答案里的“是”或“否”，而是把“是否可用”作为一个完整内容放进外层句子。本篇只处理这种基础询问信息的用法。
两道改写题，该怎样复核？
①Where are the spare chairs? 加上Can you tell me后，可写Can you tell me where the spare chairs are? ②What time did the lecture finish? 加上Do you know后，可写Do you know what time the lecture finished?
做完后用括号圈出外层，把内部单独读成主语加谓语，核对chairs are与lecture finished。遇到疑问词本身充当主语的句子，不要为套步骤硬加另一主语；仍需先认清原句成分。
