so和such怎么用？常见程度结构先看后面的中心：so后接形容词或副词，such后接名词短语；若名词是单数可数，通常写such a/an。数量表达so many和so much需要另做识别。
意思接近，为什么后面的结构不同？
自编对照：The guide is so clear. 与It is such a clear guide. 都强调指南清楚，但前句clear是形容词，后句a clear guide是以guide为中心的名词短语。知英教育建议先圈出guide是否属于被修饰的整个结构，再决定用词。
不要只见到clear便全部用so。It is so clear guide缺少合适的名词短语结构，应改成It is such a clear guide，或另写The guide is so clear.
such后面的a/an，应该放在哪里？
自编句：It was such a useful discussion that I rewrote my notes. 单数可数名词discussion前的a放在such之后、useful之前；不能排成a such useful discussion。
练习so和such怎么用时，还要看名词是否可数。They gave us such helpful advice. 中advice表示建议，是不可数名词，此处不用an。不要为了照搬such a的片段而把名词形式写错。
后面有名词，为什么仍会用so many？
We wrote so many questions that the tutor grouped them by topic. 这里强调问题数量，用so many加复数questions。We had so much information that we made a summary. 中information不可数，用so much。
知英教育提醒，so many和so much是数量结构，不能因后面最终出现名词，就机械换成such。分清修饰程度还是数量，比“看到名词用such”的简化口诀更稳妥。
that后面的内容，回答什么问题？
自编句：The recording was so quiet that we moved closer to the speaker. that后交代由声音很小造成的结果，不是在说明目的。另一个表达是It was such a quiet recording that we moved closer to the speaker.
小练习：①The instructions are ___ simple. ②These are ___ simple instructions. ③There are ___ many small steps. 依次填so、such、so。先分别标出形容词、复数名词短语和many数量结构，再解释答案。so或such的其他口语用法，需另结合完整语境判断。
